Questions On Equity And Education - 1741 Words
Equity There are many problems that equity is facing that need to be corrected. It has been a focus to improve the issues that equity acquires, but the efforts have failed since it has been a problem for decades. It can change the way students are learning and it will allow everyone to have the resources needed. Equity is of great importance in education, but it has many issues that go with it. The issues affect many children and families in the community. Finding a solution to THREE-YEAR PLAN AND 5 ISSUES IN EDUCATION 5 the problem is necessary and there are some solutions in place that hopefully will help.â⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦There has also been a problem with tracking students and the way that the school sorts them out. Depending on race, low academics, special ed. and the non-white students are also disproportionally represented and subject to discipline policy that removes them from school (Nielson, 2013). Poverty Poverty is a huge issue in a childââ¬â¢s educational success. That does not mean that children living in poverty will never be successful, but the chances of that are slimmer. It can affect the way children react in academics and in social situations too. Most of the time the effects of child poverty cannot be prevented, but one can facilitate these children for a better future. It can be programs, educators, family, or anyone willing to help a child in need. Children cannot achieve the goals that they need in school when they are in poverty and have no help. Not only because they are poor, but because of the stress that poverty creates for these children. Stress is a big topic that affects a childââ¬â¢s life as they grow up to become adults.
